Oxymoron….

An oxymoron is defined as is a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory terms.

How about a reggae singing hasidic Jew as a prime example.

Meet Matisyhu Miller (born Matthew Paul Miller) of White Plains, New York.

I came upon his music and I really dig it … Not only is it a groovy reggae beat but it praises the God of Abraham.

Check him out … tell me if you like him.

  1. Anil,
Some people look at people for what they are only skin deep. If someone would come to me and say check out this guy, he is an amazing reggae singer and if I was to not listen to him because of his appearance, I would be missing out on a unique experience.

This can be said the same about God, but in a different way. 1st of all, we can not see God, in the physical sense. But if I was to ask an unchurched person to check out God and expect them to use the images that were established by other unchurched people, that person will never take the time to get to know who God is.

If on the other hand, I was to give some examples of how God has influenced my life or the life of others, this same person may take the time to try to get to know who God is.

In conclusion, why anyone would let other people influence our decision to further illuminate (a word for Sean) our lives is beyond me. If more people would allow the Holy Spirit to guide our hearts and minds; I can only imagine how much more amazing this world could be. I am sure that in God’s perfect plan, everything will work itself out in the end.

Whoever thought that a bald, chubby guy like me could ever be so inspirational? God did, that is who, and it is all part of His plan.

  2. Hey Anil!

Actually, I do “dig” this guy. The music makes me feel like on the Carnival Cruise Ship! Thanks for the invite to listen. You know, the way I look at it, if someone is singing and glorifying God, I love it!

    Have an awesome day.

Keeep studying for your test man!

    I’ll be praying for you.

  3. Definately an intresting listen. Not my type of music but it was cool. Although they say different strokes for different folks. I like Skillet (hard rock).
    Be Blessed my friend.
