Peace Through Music…

My favorite muse, P. Trixie Modeste, tuned me in to this video.

It’s a cover of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” performed by musicians around the world (who never even met each other) adding their part as the song traveled the globe.

This song, as well as other covers, is part of the award-winning documentary, “Playing For Change: Peace Through Music”.

The film soundtrack and DVD will be available in stores on 04/28/09.

Hope you dig as much as I did.

Grace and Peace.

One Response to “Peace Through Music…”

  1. Amazing,
I am so blessed when I see people with such gifts such as music and dance, I do not have either of those gifts. It is amazing that such people can be so humble to be out there singing ther hearts out and they do not look at themselves and less fortunate. Yet most people look at these people for the way they look and for where they live and judge them without taking the time to get to know them.
Let me challenge each of you, next time you meet someone for the 1st time, even a homeless person, do not cut your time short with them, strike up a conversation.
You may be surprised that they may not be too different than yourself, they just may have taken a different path and their season is not here yet.
Encourage them, especially if the person you meet is struggling, that their season of victory is near, you know how to do the rest…
To God be ALL of the Glory,
